Where has the summer vacation gone? It does not seem that long ago that I started work for the summer but now I only have 3 weeks left. Three extra weeks, as I was extended up until my ‘going up north’ date. I feel really lucky to have gotten full time work this summer, back where I have worked every year since 2005. The money is much needed due to having to pay my own fees and deciding not to take out another student loan. Although it does take away all my time. I had some plans for this summer re art stuff, but that has had to be set aside.

Re the website, a few more sections added.

In July I started a small (a5) sketchbook. I have never “done” sketchbooks really, they do not come naturally I guess, but this is something I would like to change. I think how approach them has to change, and the above is my second drawing from it. I basically have to stop thinking about what I am putting in it and the quality of it! So the above is from a sketchbook designated for “home” and a little idea I have been mulling over for the past few years.

I plan to start another when I go up north in 3 weeks. My challenge to myself is to fill it when I am up there! We will see … !

My papier mache stones have extended to other items now. All in planning are related to Pictish symbols. In progress are some antlers …
